A smart dog saved its keeper's belongings from a fire by "calling" for help from neighbors last Friday in Fushun, Liaoning.
The dog, left alone in a locked room by its master, was awakened by heavy smoke from a corridor in the room. It then bumped against the door repeatedly.
Hearing the strange knock, a neighbor called firefighters for help. Firefighters broke into the room and put out the fire.
The room would have been destroyed without the dog's action, said the firefighters, who determined that firecrackers caused the fire.
