A bicycle rider suffered from minor injuries after he was knocked down by a dog that had jumped out of a moving car in Wuchang, Hubei, over the weekend.
The incident took place in the city's Yuemachang area. The dog jumped out, knocking over the bike rider, surnamed Han. Then the car stopped, and a young woman passenger got out to catch her dog.
The car's driver, surnamed Deng, told police that the dog jumped out because his wife had refused a kiss from the dog and beat it.
Deng was ordered to pay compensation of 100 yuan ($12.80) to Han and was fined another 200 yuan ($25.60) because he had violated traffic rules by stopping the car and causing a minor traffic jam.
